The fact that the New York Giants did not hire Brian Flores does not make them a racist club. From the minute Joe Schoen was hired, it was evident who the Giants preferred in the head coach hunt. It's absurd to argue the New York Giants didn't go about their head coach search properly. During the process, the Giants interviewed six head coaching candidates, three of them were African Americans. During this phase, two of the three applicants had two interviews. Not only were half of the candidates of color, but they also gave each contender a chance to prove themselves. The Giants aren't the problem. The problem is Brian Flores, who is enraged that he was beaten out in the process. It's important to hear from both sides of the story before making judgement. To judge your opinion from a so-called text message from Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick where he stated he heard rumors that Brian Daball was the favorite is nonsense and that's not being sensible. You are taking a side before all the facts have been laid out. Well, here are the facts of the situation. Fact number one: Giants Owner John Mara reached out to Brian Flores before he even hired Joe Schoen as general manager. In fact, Brian Flores was the first person the Giants called and told him there was interest to make him head coach of the Giants. There are rumors John Mara favorite coming into this process was Brian Flores. But of course, during the process things change which lead to Brian Flores being beaten out by Daball. Fact number two: This idea that Flores has come up with from Belichick text messages that Daball was hired 3 days before they interviewed him is simply not true. The Giants haven't even given Daball an in-person interview yet. The text messages took place one day before the Giants even had Daball in the building. The Giants don't operate like the Browns or the Dolphins they actually operate with class. And they would never hire someone they never even interviewed in person. So, let's stop this nonsense making the Giants look like they were racist simply because they decided Brian Daball was the best person for the job. But simply because I defended the Giants doesn't just take away from the race issues across the rest of the NFL. It's very clear that other teams have avoided hiring people of color on all levels of their club. But the Giants haven't! We had an African American general manager for nearly a decade! Our head trainer is African American! and so many others on our coaching staff is African American! It's important to understand there is more to a team than just the head coach.
